The Evolution of MBSE

- Envisioning the Future of Systems Engineering -

Hosted by JCOSE, we invite you to the INCOSE Japan Symposium 2024, a key event for professionals interested in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the future of Systems Engineering.

Hear from leading experts including David Hetherington from System Strategy, Inc., who will discuss the role of MBSE in successful modular system development, and Steve Records, Executive Director of INCOSE, who will share insights on the future of Systems Engineering. The symposium will feature presentations from experts in various fields, including aerospace. After these talks, join us for a panel discussion and Q&A session. Don’t miss the networking reception, a great opportunity to meet speakers and fellow attendees.

Keynote 1:

The Role of MBSE in Successful Modular System Development

Speaker: David Hetherington, Principal at System Strategy, Inc.

This presentation addresses a case study on the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) required in U.S. defense procurement programs. It introduces the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to solve challenges related to the economics of modularity. The effectiveness of using SysML simulation and discrete event simulation to improve information and reduce risk will be demonstrated.

Keynote 2 :

The Future of Systems Engineering and INCOSE’s Role in It

Speaker: Steve Records, Executive Director at INCOSE

The talk will be based on 2 things: the systems engineering Vision 2035 and the new INCOSE strategic plan being launched in 2024. The Vision 2035 outlines that SE of the past needs to evolve to meet the global challenges of the future. While the Vision 2035 document has been published for a while at this point, INCOSE also realizes it must evolve to both lead the discipline and to serve our members effectively for this future.
